Top dressing adds the best quality soil to your lawn to aid seed germination in lawn repairs or to help smooth out small undulations. We favour a fine organic based compost and sand based soil. It ensures better germination and grass establishment, putting down beneficial organic material in the lawn to help the natural microbial activity in the soil. Essential for a healthy lawn.
We can provide different top dressing to match the requirements and your soil type. We use an organic compost dressing for most lawn repairs and renovation work as it's really versatile and enhances seed germination. We do offer a traditional 70/30 sand/loam mix too.
The organic compost dressing does wonders for a lawn if applied annually with or without overseeding.
Please note, top dressing is not designed to level an uneven lawn but it will help smooth out small (up to 1cm) undulations. We are happy to advise on uneven lawns, so please ask.
